Original Saddlebred Artwork On Display in Florida

If any artist can show us that creative people are a timeless treasure it is Linda Owens, also known as LOWEN.

Unique productions from her studio have been sold to people all over the continental United States and she is not done producing yet. On Tuesday, October 29, 2013 a wine and cheese art exhibition was held in her honor at the New Port Inn in New Port Richey, Florida. A collection of her renowned works were showcased including sculptures, paintings, jewelry, hand painted jewelry boxes, and life sized crystal mosaic horse heads.

Sculptures of horses poised in spirit took up every surface available and colorful paintings graced the walls of the lobby.

Near the beginning of the event Linda brought out a life sized foam horse head. She gave a brief demonstration on how she created the mosaic Saddlebred horse heads, which at this time no one else is known for designing. She composed the foam headpiece and outlined the materials she implemented in her process. After the presentation she hosted a question and answer session and posed for photos with attending guests.

Linda lived in Colorado for over forty years as founder and matriarch of the well known Saddlebred stables, Gloraloma, which was a major contributor to the Saddlebred world and served as a main educator to the public. After a nearly fatal experience with pneumonia she spent three years in Mexico, Missouri at the historical house of noted horsemen, Arthur and Jim Simmons.

For the last few years she has resided in Florida.

This week has been all about updating my online stores.

Currently I have original prints available including small prints you can easily turn into post cards! There are detailed pictures and each item has information about shipping and packaging. Overall, if you buy something from me you’ll probably also get a free sketch with the item you purchased. The sketch will be either on its own paper or on the packaging itself. I like to personalize items when possible.

The earrings (pictured below) will be up later today!

at the moment commissions are closed as I have a few projects to complete

keep an eye out for when they’ll be open again either here or on my deviantArt site!

For gently used items I am selling, please visit my ebay store.

I have several items available. When an item does not sell in auction I realist it within a few days time. Currently there is a collectible Alduin statue from the Elder Scrolls game, volumes 1-7 of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga series by Hiromu Arakawa, the complete set of Crescent Moon by Haruko Iida, two books from the History Mysteries series, Brian’s Winter by Gary Paulsen, The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks, and plenty more! Not all the items I have for sale are currently listed. They are set on a rotation so keep checking back for relisted and new items.

Earlier in the week I took a majority of the pictures. The rest of the time I spent editing the photos for optimal display. The process is both easier than I thought it would be and yet more time consuming than I thought it would be. Regardless it was fun and I look forward to doing more.

Today I end with a beautiful song and a potential new game for you and your friends.

Cup Song

I learned this game in middle or high school.

Until next week, enjoy!

Post Holiday Post

Whether you were working, sick, or celebrating time off this holiday season I hope you had a good time and spent it making at least one good memory to write home about!

It was holiday madness over here but I still managed to start a few art projects. I have messages from you to catch up on and a possible comic to start (the script is completed and not written by me), as well as the never ending list of projects to start. I have found an online printing company that I am going to order preliminary prints from to add stock to my shop online and I have a few more items to list up on ebay. Recently I have also found a wonderful sorting container for my earring supplies and the more organized I make my supply the more inspired I feel to put pieces together! I’ll take a photo soon and share it in a post.

As it is I have not much remarkable to say in this post other than to share a few in progress shots.
